So, last night I was exhausted.
Pooped!
We turned off the t.v. at 9:15, went up stairs.
Did all our bathroom stuff and got in bed.
Read a little and went to sleep.
Last glance at the clock, said 10:15.
Wimper...Wimper...
I awake to an ever faint wimper and I'm not sure what it is. It is 1:13 in the morning. Is it a phone? Is the house alarm going off downstairs? Is the alarm clock in the guest bedroom ringing?
No, wait. It is closer. Did I even hear anything at all? I wait to see if I hear it again, and at this point I am awake, and I do hear it again. It was coming from the side of the bed.
Saber, sitting, in the dark, staring at the bed, wimpering because he has gotten out of his blankets and can't get back under.
Utterly annoyed, I wake Tim from his slumber and tell him to help the dog. I NEED sleep!!!!!
I'm back in dreamland after a small cough attack and then I hear it again.
What? Are you serious? You have to be kidding me! But now I am awake and so is Saber. He is cold and staring at the bed again, begging for assistance. So rather than waking up Tim again, I climb over him and fix the blankets on the ground so that Saber can go back to sleep.
Sounds so simple. It wasn't. Why? Because then Saber proceeds to lick himself at least 100 times! And did I add his licks are loud! Then it gets better, because Tim starts to snore.
I have to ask Tim to roll to his side and tell Saber "it is clean!".
So, after another coughing spell, I am able to fall back asleep. Yeah, 3:45 a.m. and I am headed back to dreamland.
THEN at 5:00 a.m.- Drew wakes up. I think, maybe if Igive him a bottle he will go back to sleep. He normally does. BUT no, not today. He wanted to play!
I was pooped by morning!
Oh Jo, I feel your pain. I hope that those nights don't happen too often and I hope you get some much needed rest last night! Your dog needs covers? That is too funny. What does he sleep in?
ReplyDeleteI think it so funny that your dog needs covers. I hope you get some sleep tonight.
