Boy or Girl

Two separate times this week people have come up to me and said, "What a cute little girl." I politely say, he is a boy and his name is Drew Daniel. I realized by just calling him Drew, some still might not get it. The Daniel adds the masculinity needed for people to get it- a boy. Sometimes I dress him in blue so there won't be confusion, but I can't always be worrying about that. I stared at him today for a while to try to see why people think he looks like a girl...
Most people think babies are boys. I always hear he is so cute and then the mother corrects them.

Well my conclusion is the hair. Drew Daniel has too much hair and it is too long. So I asked myself- would I cut it. HECK NO. I love his hair. I dreamed and hoped that he would have a head full of hair on the day he was born. I wanted it full and black. I think it is beautiful and I guess I will just be comfortable telling people He is a Boy. Maybe I should have his football rattle handy when we are out.

All this is not really a complaint- I really could care less but it does make me think...a little.
