The Evolution of the Haircut

When Drew had to get his first hair cut, I knew he wasn't going to like it.
I had him sit right in front of the t.v. and kept feeding him snacks. Even then, he didn't like it!

We used this method for a while...until one day I looked at him and thought, "I am not any good at cutting his hair. His lack of complaining shouldn't be considered as a compliment."

So we headed to the mall.
First time I took him to Cartoon Cuts.
It is advertised specifically for kids and they set your kid up w/ his own t.v. to keep him still.
Well, that experience was just okay. The lady was nice but nothing special and the price was more than I wanted to pay!

From that point I wanted to try a regular place. So I tried out the Marley Station Mall Barber shop. They were nice and did a good job and I was able to have Drew sit there with the promise of walking over to the candy store (around the corner) and picking something out. He did it. Or should I say he tolerated it but he didn't like it!

The whole hair cut he gave the barber "mean eyes" and told me later that he was mad at him.

That is how it went, until Tuesday...

We went to Arundel Mill since I had an eye appointment and thought, why not ask Drew if he wants a hair cut. He said yes.
I was surprised.
We went and on our way we talked about not being mad but understanding that the person cutting your hair is just doing his job.
Drew said he would not be mad.

And he wasn't!

He sat there, told the man that he was funny. He used his one liners:

You funny!
Me not think so!

He smiled and just had a good time. And later told me that the man was nice.

WOW!

Yes, I still bribed him with candy but I would have given him candy anyway!
