I've Been Everywhere, Man

You may have noticed that I have not been blogging a lot lately.
Some might say I ran out of things to say, but those of you who know me know better!
We haven't really gone to any one place for too long but it seems we have been everywhere.

We started down 95 and drove 8 hours to South Carolina. Visited the Funk Family (my sister) and welcomed my newest niece- Synclair. Had late nights (kids stayed up till 10:00 but slept till 8:00) and great food on the porch. Felt very southern.

Then we were on our way to New Jersey. We met with the Parks and Petersons. Saw aunts, uncles, grandparents, and my cousin Elizabeth. She taught Drew how to dance, well how to stand there and look cool while she danced. The "dads" took care of the kids while the "moms" went to a retreat. Fun time and we got to go to the board walk too!

Next weekend we had a wedding to go to in Philly. The Walin brother got married to his long-time sweetheart! This turned out nice because we gave the grandparents Drew time and we had some of our time- dancing! Well, maybe Tim stood there looking cool while I danced (now I know where Drew gets it).

Then it was Father's Day. We had our own special weekend and celebrated Martin style. Good food, relaxation and cleaning- just kidding on the last one.

Next we headed down to the heat- San Antonio, Texas.
We saw grandparents, aunts, uncles and almost all my cousins (2/3 of all cousins on my side).
Alex, Sam, Brian, Natalie, Kaysie, Gavin and Sagan all played and hung out. It was such a site to see- especially in the pool!

Had a weekend to recover and decided we should head north.

We went to Elizabethtown to see some more cousins! Drew played with Emma and Ethan and showed them how to make a mess in the tub! No- not that type of mess, more of just splashing and slapping the water. Needless to say, he was uninvited to take a bath with his cousins again! But I think it is safe to say they all had a great time! Did I mention we ate like kings and had the best apple pie I've ever had? Do NOT ask me how many pieces I ate!

And now, we are home...resting, well sort of. More like trying to get our house back in order and continue on this great adventure of summer. Who knows where we will go next...

we are just crazy like that.

Pictures will follow soon!

Oh- and Drew got two more teeth! My man is ready for steak!

  2. Ok, I feel bad that I am just now catching up with your blogs! But I read the part about you tasting the best apple pie you've ever had...well, maybe, just maybe, that one WHOLE entire homemade apple pie you through out after our party would've been your favorite...I guess we will never know... ;)
