Sunday evening, Tim went to play in his soccer game. The game was early enough that we went with him. For those of you that know my husband, you know he not only loves the game but he is pretty good at it. (No, he did not pay me to say that.)
Well, he was running- pretty fast- to get ahead of the ball in order to trap it before it went out of bounds when he tripped. He went head first into the wall. Oh yeah, it was a cinder block wall. He may have tried to catch himself w/ his hands and part of his body- because those are sore, but his head caught the brunt of the trauma.
Did we see this? No, Drew and I were trying to get a drink or something.
What did I see? Tim on the ground. People running to him. People running away (to get ice). Then he proceeded from the corner of the incident to the team bench. He face was covered in blood. Blood in his mouth. I didn't know the extent of it.
Torn between going to him and not wanting Drew to be freaked out I tried to distract Drew for a minute. Then he asked me if his Dad was hurt. I said yes.
The staff wanted to call an ambulance but I said I would just take him to the hospital. So Drew went w/ a friend and I went to "get" Tim. He could walk and talk...just looked really messed up. With the help of Mr. Daran, we got Tim in the car, Drew in his seat and paper towels to clean up some of that mess on Tim's face. Turns out it was really one major cut on the forehead that did all that bleeding! Nine stitches later and a normal CT scan meant Tim was ready to just get home and clean from his game (he sweats a lot).
It was a long night.
Then it was Monday. Tim went to work for a little bit that day. I took Drew to school and back so that Tim wouldn't have to do anything extra. When he got home, we were all outside so we headed inside. Poor Saber, he almost made it all the way in but that tail of his got caught in the door. He only cried once. We thought that was the end of it until I kept seeing red speckles on the floor. Then I realized it was blood. We had to contain the blood, take Saber upstairs to the tub, clean his wounds and see the extent of them, and bandage him up! Yikes!
It was a lot of extras to do when we should have just held the door a little longer.
Then it was Tuesday. It was a good day. It seemed like everyone was getting better. But then Drew (after being asleep for 3 hours cries out). He wasn't really making sense as to why he was not happy. I settled him down and went back to bed. Less than an hour later, he was up again. Tim went in this time. Then he was up again. I went in and he felt warm. This was a 3 am. So, I got Tim to lay w/ him so that I could go get all the medical things needed for a fever in the middle of the night. Once we got medicine in Drew, I stayed there w/ him, snuggling, while Tim got some sleep. Then at 4 am, Drew had to go potty. He went and felt much better. (Yea medicine!) Then he went back to his bed and I went back to mine! He didn't go to school today and slept till 10 am.
So it has been 3 days and 3 people/pets have had some sort of issue. Some have been worse than others. But I dare say I am not superstitious. I just hope I am not next!
WOW! Didn't know all of that happened to your family! Exhausting! Miss you guys!!
